TALISKER LAUNCHES RARE 2024 30-YEAR-OLD WHISKY: ONLY 2,610 BOTTLES

Talisker 30 Year Old

Talisker Distillery, located on the Isle of Skye and owned by Diageo, has introduced a new whisky to its collection – a limited edition 30-year-old single malt. Priced at £1,300, this 2024 release is a true collector’s item, with only 2,610 bottles available globally.

First launched in 2006 as part of Diageo’s renowned Special Releases collection, the Talisker 30-year-old has since become an anticipated annual release, though not without a few gaps in production over the years. This new release is described as a celebration of “three decades of maturation,” drawing a parallel to the majestic Cuillin mountains that dominate Skye’s skyline.

On the palate, the 2024 Talisker 30-year-old is said to offer a distinctive “gentle peppery kick” complemented by “wisps of sea smoke.” These tasting notes reflect Talisker’s signature style, but with an added layer of complexity that comes with age. Ewan Gunn, senior ambassador for Diageo’s single malt Scotch whiskies, praised the latest edition, stating, “This new release of Talisker 30-year-old holds all the classic characteristics of the single malt, yet elevated to new heights. Soaring with sweet smoke and pointy notes of pepper, this latest release is an elegant and complex expression. The 30-year-old is a consistently exceptional release.”

This latest offering follows the launch of Talisker Glacial Edge 45-year-old in November 2023 another exquisite release that formed part of a series of aged whisky experiments, underscoring Diageo’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of whisky-making.
