MACALLAN RELEASE ‘TALES OF THE MACALLAN VOLUME II’

Tales of The Macallan Feature

Macallan have released the second edition in the prestigious Tales of the Macallan series, which is a heartfelt tribute to their founder Alexander Reid. This extraordinary edition is a commemoration of two centuries of whisky craftsmanship, highlighting the spirit of the distillery’s heritage.

The centrepiece of this release is a 1949 vintage that was distilled and aged for over 70 years, before being bottled in 2022. The Lalique crystal decanter is a real work of art and it features detailed etchings of Andrew Davidson’s illustrations. Accompanying the decanter is an 800-page hand sewn book, a collaborative effort by renowned London-based bookbinders Shepherds, Sangorski & Sutcliffe, and Zaehnsdorf.

Remaining true to the distillery’s origins, the whisky was bottled at 44.8%. The tasting notes, thoughtfully provided by Macallan’s lead whisky maker Euan Kennedy, promise a thought proviking and complex experience, with a lingering smokiness reminiscent of whiskies from Alexander’s era.

For those seeking the epitome of luxury, only 344 bottles of Tales of The Macallan Volume II are available, each priced at £70,000.
