ISLAY’S BOWMORE DISTILLERY REVEALS SLEEK NEW LOOK
Islay’s renowned Bowmore Distillery has unveiled a refreshed bottle design for its newly released Sherry Oak Collection and exclusive Appellations range.
The updated design will first be introduced with the Sherry Oak Collection, a series of four whiskies. This redesign reflects Bowmore’s commitment to elevating the brand.
The new packaging features morphic linework, symbolising the “exceptionally expressive and layered nature” of Bowmore’s whisky. The brand has retained its signature black colour, a nod to its heritage and the iconic Black Bowmore, distilled in 1964, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
From 2025, the new design will be rolled out across Bowmore’s entire permanent range, marking a significant evolution in the brand’s visual identity.
Kirsteen Beeston, Bowmore’s Marketing Director, commented on the redesign, stating, “As custodians of this incredible distillery, we have a duty to reflect and capture the true essence of Bowmore. This respect for our past achievements, combined with our desire to honour the spirit as it exists today, led us to evolve our brand across creative, experience, and innovation. The launch of the Sherry Oak Cask and Bowmore Appellations ranges exemplifies this evolution, offering our customers and consumers a new brand experience.”
The second new release is the Bowmore Appellations range, exclusive to travel retail. This collection highlights the influence of wine-producing regions such as Burgundy, Bordeaux, and the Douro Valley:
– 14-Year-Old: Finished in Bordeaux barriques.
– 16-Year-Old: Finished in ruby Port casks from the Douro Valley.
– 19-Year-Old: Finished in Pinot Noir casks from Burgundy.
– 22-Year-Old: Finished in Sauternes casks.
These releases underscore Bowmore’s commitment to innovation while respecting its rich heritage, offering whisky enthusiasts new ways to enjoy this iconic Islay distillery.
