Hatozaki Whisky Brokers Associates

Hatozaki whisky, famously named as the Hatozaki lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Japan have released a new and rather quirky whisky.

In the third instalment of their Omakase series, a star of the show has emerged, and this whisky is well travelled.

It starts with two aged rye whiskies plucked from the secret corners of two mystery U.S. states. These ryes then embark on a grand adventure to Japan, Here, the whisky sits in Mizunara Oak barrels for an undisclosed amount of time.

The whisky is bottled at 42% and proudly sports a “Made in Japan” label as per the new rules. The whisky then returns to the U.S., where 3,000 bottles will sell for a fairly modest sum of $95 a bottle.

Americans have developed quite a taste for Japanese whisky, with imports skyrocketing from $18.4 million in 2015 to $67.4 million by 2020 – a huge 266% increase in just five years.
