Like all Auchentoshan whisky, American Oak is a really versatile Single Malt. It works wonders as an Auchentoshan & Ale, is happy to stand on its own neat or over ice but also shakes up some classic cocktails that you might not think work with Single Malt whisky.
A blend of peated and unpeated malts with grain whiskies, Yamazakura Blend Peated is a creation of the Asaka distillery.
This blended whisky was double distilled in a copper pot still and then aged in bourbon barrels before being bottled at the Asaka distillery located in the Fukushima region. This peaty edition of the famous Yamazakura blend will seduce lovers of Scotch whisky with a scent of lightly smoked caramel and vanilla followed by aromas of cereals, citrus and a powerful peaty finish accompanied by notes of yellow fruits.
“Yama” means mountain in Japanese while “Sakura”, here written “Zakura” refers to the iconic Japanese cherry tree, a true Japanese beauty. Elegantly presented in a sober and poetic case, Yamazakura Blend proudly represents the Asaka distillery located in the heart of the Fukushima mountains.
Over the past few years, Lochlea’s seasonal small batch releases have showcased their signature style in four different ways. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening at that time of year.
Sowing Edition (Third Crop) is the first in a new and final set of four limited editions, marking the end of their Seasonal trilogy. Matured in 100% fresh 1st-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, these casks are 9 months older than those used in Sowing Edition (Second Crop), and the difference is incredible!
This whisky really highlights the floral aromatics associated with distilling in the colder months.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Almonds, rose petals
Palate: White pepper, a vibrant burst of apple blossom
Finish: Warm straw, fresh grass
We are pleased to offer this 2000 Glenburgie, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in their Connoisseurs Choice range. Aged for 23 years, only 487 bottles were produced at 58.7% from a first fill sherry butt.
Fragrant aromas on the nose are proceeded by butterscotch and sweet dates. Zingy jam flavours follow, complemented by orange zest and sugary toffee.
Blanton’s needs little introduction and we are offering the latest single barrel. Barrel #300 is bottled at 46.5%, it comes from a mashbill of corn, rye and malted barley.
Please Note that the wax on top of the Blanton’s bottlings can be prone to cracking and we find that boxes can have small creases in corners.
The fourth (and final) whisky from Bimber’s Four Elements Quartet range was taken from a single bourbon cask. It was bottled at 52.1%, less than the other ranges in the Elements Quartet to signify water, hence why it was diluted. Only 271 bottles were made available.
Lochlea are launching their smokiest whisky yet! Lochlea Ploughing Edition 2nd Crop has been matured exclusively in ex-Laphroaig Barrels previously used for Laphroaig 10 year old, so it packs an Islay punch alongside their signature fruit and cereal notes.
As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening at that time of year. As with the other 2nd Crops, the progression is very evident in the liquid. This is the final bottling in the series, completing the 2nd Crop set with Sowing, Harvest and Fallow.
Matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The Oloroso butts give rich notes of manuka honey and golden syrup, whilst the introduction of the PX casks provides warming layers of sweetly spiced ginger candy and ground coffee beans.
The purple label reflects the season of Autumn, when crisp leaves coat the ground as temperatures begin to fall.
This superb 40 year old Lowland single malt was distilled at St Magdalene distillery in 1982 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection in 2023 and features as part of the recollection series. Presented in a beautiful oak case, this is a must for any whisky collector.

Aroma Ripe green apple aromas combine with exotic fruit and subtle ginger spice. Sicilian lemon zest leads to soft aged leather and a hint of marzipan.
Taste Sweet pineapple flavours complement dried banana with herbal influences. Grapefruit and Brazil nut give way to mature oak.
Finish A full and long finish with cocoa powder and fresh mint.
This is a single cask Dalmore 2005 that is 17 years old without colouring or chill filtration by Gordon & MacPhail as a UK Exclusive for their Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength series. For a single cask 17 year old Dalmore at £145, this represents remarkable value for money!

Aroma Vanilla custard complements lemon sorbet and poached pear. Heather honey notes develop alongside orange peel and coconut.
Taste Sharp grapefruit gives way to soft vanilla pod and sweet honeycomb. Elderflower comes to the fore alongside ripe green apple and mature oak.
Finish Medium-bodied with tropical fruit and faint spice.
Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.

This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
