This whisky from Denmark is absolutely fab! Considering it’s only aged for around 4 years the complexity of it is intense. I would have definitely guessed over 8 year old. It’s matured in New American Oak (where that depth will be coming from) and it’s 100% FLOOR MALTED at the distillery!

Think leathery notes, roasted nuttiness and a sweet and rich almost Sherried flavour.

The nose is a thump of pepper with hints of red berries and a lot of vanilla.

In the mouth, there is more vanilla, a good kick of spicey oak and vanilla, with some more red berries. I really want to like it, and I think I do, but something turned my nose up a little. I think perhaps too much spice, a little burnt almost.

The finish was nice. Some citrus notes appeared and a little chocolate, too. I wish I had more of it as I think a drop of water may soften the spice.
