Lochlea Sowing Edition Second Crop with free tasting glass
Lochlea’s seasonal small batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in to reflect the farming calendar. In the Sowing Edition (second crop) for 2023, they have used 100% fresh first fill ex-Bourbon barrels from higher up in the warehouse than 2022. The heat, faster maturation, and older spirit combine to show a clear progression from last year’s edition.

Meticulously blended from eaux-de-vie aged between four and ten years, this expression delivers a smooth, full-bodied experience with notes of ripe peach, toasted almond, and delicate florals. The time spent in French oak casks imparts soft vanilla and warming spice, rounding off the palate with elegance. Boulder Bottled In Bond Straight Bourbon
Boulder bottled in bond is a hidden gem in the bourbon world. The Bottled In Bond Act of 1897 was written to ensure the consumer was informed the contents of that bottle were of quality standards and made in compliance with industry standards. In modern times, this ensures the consumer knows three major things: It’s at least 4 years of age and all the whiskey is harvested from the same season, it is bottled at exactly 100 proof, and perhaps most importantly, the labelling states where it’s made and who bottled the
whiskey inside.
Profile: Oatmeal cookie, candied ginger, and allspice. Aged 4 years and bottled at 100 proof.
Indri Three Wood
Introducing Indri, a single malt Indian whisky.
Indri single malt is distilled in Indri, Haryana, near the Himalayan foothills, near the Yamuna basin.
This remarkable single malt is made from indigenous six-row barley grown for hundreds of years in Rajasthan. Matured with care since 2010, Indri–Trini is also the first Indian whisky to be produced in three different wooden barrels: in ex-bourbon, ex-wine, and PX sherry casks.
Jin Jiji High Proof Gin
We are delighted to be the exclusive UK distributor of Jin Jiji.
Jin JiJi High Proof is inspired by the Royal British Navy who during Colonial times first set a high proof requirement for gin being transported to India. As space is scarce on ships, the Navy preferred alcohol at higher strength as they could get more in a smaller space. A strength of 57% back then ensured that gunpowder wasn’t contaminated in case of a spill.
2020 Barolo, Massolino, Piemonte, Italy
This wine is bright ruby-garnet in colour. With the grapes sourced from different sub-areas of Serralunga, there is a spectrum of perfumes on the nose, ranging from spicy to sweet, floral and fruit. The palate is a classic example of the region; full-bodied, elegant and well structured, with great ageing ability.
Winter saw mild temperatures and little rain and snow resulting in an early start of vegetation growth. The first part of spring was dry and sunny. Between May and July frequent rainfalls slowed down the growth and provided soils with precious water which, together with average summer temperatures, prevented water stress. Although veraison started early, the cooler nights in September made up for the early start, slowing down the vegetation growth, granting perfect ripeness and excellent ph and acidity levels.

Piper Heidsieck Essentiel Cuvee
Piper-Heidsieck was founded nearly 240 years ago in 1785 and has enjoyed a fascinating, star-studded history ever since. They became the first Champagne House to feature on film in Laurel and Hardy’s 1933 ‘Sons of the Desert’ and were a firm favourite of Marilyn Monroe, who once famously stated: “I go to bed with a few drops of Chanel N° 5, and I wake up each morning to a glass of Piper-Heidsieck; it warms me up.”
Piper-Heidsieck’s ‘Essentiel’ range is made in limited quantities and is reserved exclusively for independent merchants and the on-trade in the UK. The range includes an Extra Brut, Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut and Blanc de Noirs, crafted from grapes specifically selected from around 50 ‘crus’ across Champagne. A combination of 30% reserve wine, low dosage (often six grams per litre) and extended lees ageing (at least three years) results in elegant wines with notable ageing potential.
Piper-Heidsieck’s Vintage 2019 comprises a blend of 22% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir, and 34% Pinot Menier sourced primarily from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, aged for a minimum of four years on its lees. Defined by outstanding freshness, it is expressive and fruit-driven, with notes of nectarine and plums lifted by exotic notes of pineapple, paprika and raspberry.

Aromas: Very rich smoke with fragrant vanilla and light citrus zest. Hints of apples develop accompanied by white chocolate.
Palate: Smooth with toasted oak, honey and sweet ripe fruit. Butterscotch and marshmallow flavours lead to a lemon sherbet all alongside sweet smoke.
Finish: Mouth-coating sweetness and bonfire embers.

Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.
The villagers are out there with a vengeance to get that Frankenstein
You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted:
- The toppings you may chose for that TV dinner pizza slice when you forgot to shop for foods, the paint you may slap on your face to impress the new boss is your business.
- But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes—will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way?
- Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever.
- Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
- Websites in professional use templating systems.
- Commercial publishing platforms and content management systems ensure that you can show different text, different data using the same template.
- When it's about controlling hundreds of articles, product pages for web shops, or user profiles in social networks, all of them potentially with different sizes, formats, rules for differing elements things can break, designs agreed upon can have unintended consequences and look much different than expected.
This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
