An explosive limited-edition whisky from Smokehead, adding in a punch of sherry character to the anonymous peaty dram. It’s matured in Oloroso sherry casks, fusing the big smoke with equally big sweetness and dried fruit notes at 48%.
This single malt from Glen Grant was distilled in 2008. Aged for 11 years in bourbon barrels, this whisky was then finished for the last 2 years in Barbados rum casks from the West Indies Rum Distillery. This explodes with juicy tropical fruits and banana candy with a smooth sweet lingering finish.
Only 1,235 bottles produced at 47.5%.
We are delighted to offer an incredibly unique Suntory Portopia ’81. This is one of the most stunningly designed bottles we have come across, it is presented in anchor-shaped glass and was bottled to commemorate Portopia ’81, an exposition to mark the completion of Kobe Port Island, Kobe, Japan.
Another gem from Linkwood as part of the Connoisseurs Choice series from Gordon & MacPhail, this is vintage Linkwood from 1991 and spent 30 years maturing in a first fill sherry butt. Just 549 bottles were filled from cask #7268 at 53.1%.
Hot on the heels of the inaugural release that was released earlier in the year, Lochlea have followed up with the Sowing Edition, the first of 4 seasonal releases.
It’s called the Sowing Edition as in March, Lochlea sow the seed for that years crop of barley. It is 100% matured in 1st fill Bourbon casks and is bottled at 48%.
This lovely 12 year old from Old Perth has matured exclusively aged in sherry casks and is non-chill filtered and bottled without any added colour. Fantastic notes of stewed fruit, marmalade and cinnamon all hit the palate, giving this lovely whisky a really warm and lasting finish.
It certainly isn’t every day that you get to bottle Whitlaw and especially from an STR Finish (shaving, toasting and re-charring which occurs when a cask has undergone rejuvination). This 7-year-old oozes with classic Orkney whisky character with notes of sea salt balanced with delicate peat smoke.
Bottled at 47.5%, just 1,603 bottles were produced.
Bottled to celebrate Ardbeg Day last year, the Scorch has matured in ex-Bourbon American oak casks, charred and is packed with the usual fiery smoke. This committee edition has been bottled at an easy 51.7%.
NOSE: On the nose, frighteningly intense aromas of soot and smoke lie in wait. Hints of aniseed and fragrant patchouli interlace with bold notes of quenched steel and saddle soap. With a drop of water, herbal top notes of briarwood, sage and pine wisp their way to the fore.
TASTE: Take a sip and experience lair upon lair of flavour. An oily mouthfeel grips the senses. Billowy clouds of sweet smoke and dragon charred oak permeate the palate, while grilled fare and black liquorice weave between notes of medicinal lozenge.
FINISH: A long and heroic finale, with a subtle tarry aftertaste. A finish that will drag on, well into its happily ever after.
A lovely small batch Benromach made with heavily peated barley. The Peat Smoke has matured in first-fill bourbon barrels at 46%, offering fragrant vanilla notes, which lead to lemon sherbet and apricot, finishing with smoky bonfire embers.
Aromas: Very rich smoke with fragrant vanilla and light citrus zest. Hints of apples develop accompanied by white chocolate.
Palate: Smooth with toasted oak, honey and sweet ripe fruit. Butterscotch and marshmallow flavours lead to a lemon sherbet all alongside sweet smoke.
Finish: Mouth-coating sweetness and bonfire embers.
Only ever matured in the highest quality first-fill sherry and bourbon barrels, this fifteen year old single malt whisky gives cracked pepper, charred oak, apples, dark chocolate and forest fruits with rich sherry notes and a touch of smoke.

Benromach Cara Gold is a limited release made using a combination of Cara Gold malted barley and lightly peated malt. Matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, just 6,000 bottled were produced globally. This wonderful whisky offers perfumed and tropical fruit notes, leading to pepper and toasted malt with a hint of butterscotch, and a vibrant, sweet smoke finish.
Aromas: Perfumed and sweet with passionfruit, lychee and lime complemented by a hint of malted biscuit.
Palate: Smooth and sweet flavours of pineapple, apricot and subtle pepper lead to toasted malt and a hint of butterscotch.
Finish: Vibrant and fruity with sweet smoke.
Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.

You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted:
This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
