Laphroaig 25 Year Old
Laphroaig 25 Year Old is the pinnacle of this legendary Islay distillery’s craft, blending intensity with exceptional refinement. Aged for a quarter of a century in a combination of ex-Bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, this whisky showcases a masterful balance of Laphroaig’s signature peat smoke with rich, complex layers of sweetness, spice, and oak influence.
This rare and highly sought-after release offers an experience that is both powerful and elegant. The extended maturation allows the bold, medicinal peat smoke that defines Laphroaig to mellow into a sophisticated and deeply nuanced dram. The influence of American oak brings waves of vanilla and caramel, while the Oloroso sherry casks impart rich dried fruit, spice, and an undeniable depth of character. The result is a whisky that retains the unmistakable DNA of Laphroaig while delivering an extraordinary level of complexity and refinement.
Presented at cask strength, this whisky offers an unfiltered, full-bodied experience, allowing its natural flavours to shine. Whether sipped neat to appreciate its complexity or enjoyed with a drop of water to unlock further layers of aroma and taste, Laphroaig 25 Year Old is a whisky to be savoured. It is a true collector’s item and a must-have for lovers of peated whisky, showcasing the very best of Islay’s distinctive style.
Tasting Notes by Whisky Brokers Associates
Colour: Deep, rich gold with a natural brilliance, reflecting its long years of maturation.
Nose: A refined balance of smouldering peat smoke and aged oak, layered with dried fruit, dark chocolate, and a touch of sea spray. Hints of leather, roasted nuts, and delicate floral notes emerge, adding further complexity.
Palate: A full-bodied and luxuriously smooth texture, carrying waves of signature Laphroaig smoke softened by the long aging process. The initial hit of smoky sweetness is followed by rich sherried fruit, caramelised nuts, and warming spices. Notes of dark chocolate, orange zest, and a hint of salted toffee add depth, while the underlying maritime character keeps it unmistakably Laphroaig.
Finish: Astonishingly long, with lingering smoke, gentle oak tannins, and a perfectly balanced combination of spice and dried fruit. A subtle medicinal note remains, tying everything together in a beautifully mature expression of Islay whisky.
Maturation: Aged for 25 years in a carefully selected mix of ex-Bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, allowing for a harmonious marriage of smoke, sweetness, and oak influence.
The Boss Hog VIII: Lapulapu’s Pacific
Single Barrel, Bottled at Proof, Powerfully Complex, Distinctly Unique From Anything We’ve Done Before. Stupendous.
An epic sequel to the World’s Best Rye, The Boss Hog VIII: LapuLapu’s Pacific completes Whistlepig’s journey around the world, unfurling a chronicle as rich and bold as the whiskey itself.
Upon crossing the Pacific, Captain Magellan met his fate at the hands of the legendary Filipino warrior LapuLapu. A fierce and vociferous defender of independence, LapuLapu led his island home against the Spaniards. There he forged a successful fortification, staving off colonial occupation for more than forty years.
This rare edition sees a double finish in high toast, small batch, single island Philippine Rum casks, adding layers of warm spice and delicate tropical notes to an already deeply complex, well aged Rye Whiskey. LapuLapu’s Pacific is a profound statement of strength and independence, a spectacular sequel to Magellan’s Atlantic.
This rare and outstandingly complex whiskey is barrel strength, bottled between 104.8 and 106.6 proof.

Glen Grant 25 Year Old
A true collector’s whisky, Glen Grant 25 Year Old embodies decades of craftsmanship and slow maturation. This long-aged Speyside malt delivers extraordinary complexity, with refined notes of stewed apple, dark honey, toasted nuts, and polished oak. The nose is rich and expressive, while the palate remains incredibly smooth, with a lingering finish that carries hints of spice and soft smoke. A whisky to mark life’s finest moments, best enjoyed slowly and with reverence.
Imperial 33 Year Old 1989
From the silent Imperial Distillery, this 33-year-old single malt is an extraordinarily rare snapshot of a lost Speyside producer. Distilled in 1989 and matured in cask #2069, a single bourbon barrel, it produced an exceptionally small outturn of just 107 individually numbered bottles — a number that underlines just how scarce whisky from Imperial has become since its closure.
Now long demolished, Imperial cannot produce another drop, and each remaining cask grows more valuable and more limited every year. This release, bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.3% and left uncoloured and non-chill filtered, showcases beautifully mature Speyside fruit, honeyed richness and warming spice, but beyond flavour it is the rarity that stands out: only one cask, only one moment in time, and only 107 bottles available globally.
For collectors and enthusiasts of silent distilleries, this is the type of release that disappears almost as quickly as it arrives.

Layers of soft peat smoke, honeyed sweetness, tropical fruit, and gentle maritime notes evolve with every sip, leading to an elegant, lingering finish. Presented in a luxury book-style case, this limited-edition release is a true collector’s item and an extraordinary dram for connoisseurs of Islay whisky.

Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.
The villagers are out there with a vengeance to get that Frankenstein
You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted:
- The toppings you may chose for that TV dinner pizza slice when you forgot to shop for foods, the paint you may slap on your face to impress the new boss is your business.
- But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes—will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way?
- Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever.
- Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
- Websites in professional use templating systems.
- Commercial publishing platforms and content management systems ensure that you can show different text, different data using the same template.
- When it's about controlling hundreds of articles, product pages for web shops, or user profiles in social networks, all of them potentially with different sizes, formats, rules for differing elements things can break, designs agreed upon can have unintended consequences and look much different than expected.
This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
