NEW 8-YEAR-OLD KING’S INCH WHISKY MAKES ITS AGE-STATEMENT DEBUT

Glasgow-based distillery Courageous Spirits has launched its first ever age-statement whisky under the King’s Inch brand. This summer marks the introduction of the 8-Year-Old King’s Inch, a superb addition to their award-winning non-age statement King’s Inch whisky.
Priced at £49 and bottled at 46%, the King’s Inch 8-Year-Old is a specially curated blend, limited to a mere 1,500 bottles, combining Bourbon casks and Sherry butts.
This golden whisky offers a rich and soft nose, infused with hints of heather honey, spiced oak, and citrus. On the palate, it reveals subtle sweetness, tropical fruit, and dried raisins, leading to a warm, spiced oak and ginger finish.
King’s Inch is named after a historical measurement and a forgotten island in the Clyde and the business has already won a number of awards. The non-age statement King’s Inch, priced at £40, won Gold at the IWSC International Wine & Spirit Competition with 95 points, Gold and Best in Show at the London Spirits Competition 2022, and Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022.
The release of the new 8-Year-Old whisky coincides with the grand opening of Courageous Spirits’ new premises in Glasgow. This new facility aims to centralise operations, including dry goods storage, bonded storage, bottling, and distribution, in turn this will reduce road miles and carbon emissions.
Andy McGeoch, Managing Director and Founder of Courageous Spirits, expressed his excitement about the launch: “We’ve always known King’s Inch is special since its launch in 2021. The awards and customer feedback gave us real confidence in the spirit. We’re now at a point where we can experiment with casks and see how the spirit reacts. That to us is a really exciting prospect.”
