COLLECTORS REJOICE: GLENFARCLAS RELEASES THIRD EDITION IN DECANTER SERIES

Glenfarclas Decanter Whisky Brokers Associates

Glenfarclas has unveiled next release in their eagerly anticipated annual decanter series, a rare 24-year-old single malt that was bottled in 2000. The whisky, the third in the series, comes from cask number 12, which was filled on 1 January 2000 by Glenfarclas chairman John Grant and bottled on 30 July 2024.

This expression continues the legacy of Glenfarclas’ decanter series, which began in 2022 with a 25-year-old bottled at natural cask strength, followed by a 20-year-old Port pipe edition in 2023. The current edition, bottled at 47.4% ABV, is presented in an elegant Glencairn crystal decanter, with only 600 decanters available in the UK.

Peter Donnelly, spirits director of Pol Roger Portfolio, Glenfarclas’ UK distributor, highlights the inspiration behind the series. The five decanters, released over five years, represent the five generations of the Glenfarclas family and their distinctive whisky styles. Donnelly emphasizes the importance of selecting unique casks for the series, ensuring each release offers something special and previously unexplored by the distillery.
