BOWMORE ARC-54: A MASTERPIECE OF TIME AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

Bowmore has unveiled the second and final release in its prestigious ARC Series – Bowmore ARC-54. This extraordinary whisky brings together a rare 54-year-old single malt with a striking handblown decanter inspired by cutting-edge automotive design.

Distilled in November 1968, this whisky is a testament to the magic of time, maturing for over five decades in a 2nd Fill European Oak Sherry Butt and a 3rd Fill American Oak Hogshead within Bowmore’s legendary No.1 Vaults. The whisky follows the principles of the Golden Ratio, with 61.8% European Oak aged spirit and 38.2% American Oak aged spirit, blended together for a further 15 months to create an exceptional depth of flavour.

Each handblown decanter takes its cues from aerodynamic design, mirroring the fluid lines of a hypercar while reflecting the natural beauty of Islay. The sculpted form enhances the movement of the whisky within, creating a striking visual effect.

Dr Calum Fraser, Bowmore’s Chief Blender, describes ARC-54 as a whisky that embodies the art of patience and precision. “This 54-year-old expression demonstrates the exceptional way Bowmore matures over time, revealing complexity and character with unmatched clarity.”

Limited to just 130 decanters worldwide, Bowmore ARC-54 delivers a multi-dimensional tasting experience. Bright citric notes and delicate florals lead into layers of salted caramel, spiced ginger, and cinnamon, finished with a whisper of signature peat smoke. The result is an intense yet refined whisky, offering a long and smooth finish with sweet, herbal, and smoky undertones.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Spun gold

Aroma: Syrupy vanilla, soft butterscotch, buttery shortbread, tropical mango, sweet peach, orange zest, toasted oak, candied walnuts, and eucalyptus mint.

Palate: Fresh green apple, bergamot orange, lime juice, salted caramel, floral hints, warming spices of ginger and cinnamon, and a gentle touch of peat smoke.

Finish: Long, smooth, and layered with sweetness, herbal notes, and soft peat.
