EDINGTON AND BEAM SUNTORY END UK DISTRIBUTION PARTNERSHIP AFTER 25 YEARS
After more than 25 years of collaboration, Edrington and Beam Suntory have jointly announced the end to their distribution agreement in the UK.
From 31st January 2025, Edrington will no longer distribute Beam Suntory brands in the UK. Instead, Beam Suntory will establish their own commercial presence.
The partnership between Edrington and Beam Suntory has developed at great scale over the years. Having started as a joint venture (known originally as Maxxium UK), they transitioned to a third-party distribution partnership in 2021.
Edrington’s decision to focus exclusively on their own premium spirits in the UK is of little surprise, given their push with rare releases such as The Macallan Reach and crossing the £1 billion revenue mark.
Beam Suntory views the formation of their own commercial business in the UK as an opportunity for growth and expansion.
The decision to part ways seems to be amicable, both companies have expressed great appreciation for their long-standing partnership.
With strong premium brands like Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark in their portfolio, Beam Suntory feels confident in their ability to succeed independently in the UK.
While their partnership in the will be coming to an end in the UK, Edrington and Beam Suntory will continue to collaborate in other markets.
