In celebration of Macallan’s 200th anniversary, the Speyside distillery have continued their partnership with Bentley Motors to launch an incredibly rare whisky – The Macallan Horizon.

The end product is a whisky bottle that has never been seen before. The bottle has been designed to be displayed horizontally, with the decanter being moulded to feature a unique 180 degree twist. The finest low carbon leather has been crafted in a chestnut colourway, whilst the wood used to protect the decanter has come from one of the six casks used in the maturation of the whisky.

The Horizon was crafted by Kirsteen Cambell, the master whisky maker. It comes from 6 first fill sherry seasoned oak casks which were individually selected from the stocks maturing at the Macallan distillery.

Adrian Hallmark, Bentley’s CEO stated that this release is a ‘new benchmark for design, materials and quality in this space’, is has come from years of hard work from both Macallan and Bentley and represents their partnership.

According to Macallan this whisky packs notes of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, followed by hints of orange peel, vanilla, fudge and rich stick dates.

Only 700 bottles have been produced globally, with the bottle to be made available from the Macallan Estate Boutique and a network of domestic and travel boutiques with an RRP of £40,000.
