CHICHIBU RELEASES NEW WHISKY
Salud Spirits, a drinks distributor has introduced a new Chichibu whisky that underwent some brilliant ageing in red wine casks. With only 292 bottles produced, this very exclusive whisky which is named Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Red Wine Cask will be part of the ‘Spirits of Salud’ collection by the company. The aim is to appeal to a new wave of whisky enthusiasts.
According to Lieke van Vliet, the CCO of Salud Spirits, the Chichibu’s Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Spirits of Salud demonstrates a celebration of expert craftsmanship and pays homage to the art of blending.
Van Vliet said, “This release isn’t just about whisky; it’s an exclusive experience tailored for Japanese whisky enthusiasts.”
The bottle’s design shows ‘a serene setting surrounded by vibrant nature, portraying changing seasons with clouds, mountains, and an angel engrossed in learning from the book of life, aligning with the essence of Chichibu whisky.’
Describing the whisky’s profile, it is noted to exude aromas of ‘almond cream, fudge, nougat, candied violets, and dried pear’ while presenting a palate of ‘malt chocolate flavours with subtle hints of red peppercorn’.
With just 272 bottles available, this rare whisky will be made available for purchase before Christmas at official Chichibu stores and select liquor outlets in the Netherlands, Austria, and Japan.
